Gun Control the Lefts Answer to Mass Shootings

Gun Control the Lefts Answer to Mass ShootingsGun Control the Lefts Answer to Mass Shootings. In the recent mass shooting in Florida. 19-year-old Nikolas Cruz was an ex-student at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School where the shooting took place.

17 people were killed and at least 15 others were injured. Cruz was arrested about one hour later a mile or so from the scene.

He apparently left the school and went to Subway for a drink and to McDonald’s. He was then taken to a local hospital and then released into police custody.

Cruz was charged with 17 counts of premeditated murder and ordered to be held without bond. People soon started the gun grab debate I mean the gun debate. That always seems to come up after a mass shooting. And it is always the left that starts it, even before the gun stops smoking. They always blame the gun, as if that one gun being banned would have stopped the shooting.

A mass shooting is defined as the murder of four or more people with no cooling-off period. But it was redefined by Congress in 2013 as being the murder of three or more people. This also means that these three or more people must be in the same place. Such as schools, restaurants, churches, etc.

Some Anti-Gun advocates claim since 2013, there have been nearly 300 school shootings in America. An average of about one a week. This figure comes from EveryTown Gun Safety Support Fund. An advocacy group that seeks to prevent gun violence. The group defines a school shooting as. Anytime a firearm discharges a live round inside a school building or on a school campus or grounds. Its database includes incidents when no one was injured; attempted or completed suicide, with no intent to injure others; and cases when a gun was fired unintentionally, resulting in injury or death.

Gun Violence Archive is a nonprofit group tracking gun violence incidents. They claim since Sandy Hook, there have been 10 school shootings reaching its mass shooting threshold. That count includes the recent Florida shooting. GVA defines a mass shooting based ONLY on the numeric value of 4 or more shot or killed. This is not including the shooter.

I understand why anti-gun advocates want to count every shooting towards their mass shooting statistics at schools. They count every shooting incident whether it is related to the schools or not. Even a couple of reports were of shootings that happened on school property. But of a school that had closed several months prior to the shooting. It is ridiculous to even count those reports. All it is doing is stacking the stats to make it look worse than it really is. It is a tactic used to put fear into the publics eyes. School shootings are bad, really bad. But to count suicides, and people that are not connected to the school is just stacking the stats.

The left’s answer is to ban the AR-15. Which in case you didn’t know is NOT the choice weapon for mass shooters. Most mass shootings occur with the shooter using semi-auto handguns not rifles of any kind. Please, someone, explain to me how banning the AR-15 will help with fewer mass shootings? The AR-15 is an inanimate object. Inanimate is defined as a thing that is not alive, such as a rock, a chair, a book, etc. It could be pointed directly at anyone forever and would not shoot them. It ONLY fires when someone pulls the trigger. Here is an image that shows the difference between to rifiles that fire the same size ammo.

Why do Hollywood Libtard Elites Always go after the Gun

The left often says it would like to have “Austrailin type Gun Laws” in the United States. Austrailia’s gun law says. A person who possesses or uses a firearm must have a firearm license. The license holders must demonstrate a “genuine reason” for holding a firearm license and must not be a “prohibited person”. All firearms in Australia must be registered by serial number to the owner, who also holds a firearms license. Austrailia confiscated (bought back) around 1 million guns and destroyed them. Buyback sounds reasonable, right? Wrong, what the ones that want this implemented in the United States won’t tell you is. Austrailia made the gun buyback MANDATORY. Australia’s vaunted gun buyback program was, in fact, a sweeping program of gun confiscation. Here is a good video on Austrailian Gun Laws and what has happened. Please excuse some crude language in this video.

This isn’t Austrailia this IS the United States. We have a constitution that we follow and in the constitution is the second amendment. The text of the Second Amendment which is found in the United States Constitution and the Bill of Rights.  A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed.

The left tries to say it only says this is a right for a militia not for individuals. But if you look you see a comma separates the sentence into different parts. The definition of a comma is a punctuation mark (,) indicating a pause between parts of a sentence. It is also used to separate items in a list. And to mark the place of thousands in a large numeral. After the third comma, it says “the right of the people to keep and bear Arms” This means any legal person in this country has the right to own as many guns as they like. Then comes the fourth comma it says, “shall not be infringed.” This is just a reminder to the government that they should not try to stop people from having this right.

I will leave you with this. Mass shooting, homicides by guns, etc. are bad things done by bad people. Imposing new gun laws won’t do anything to lessen people’s chances of being killed. Criminals don’t worry about laws, hence why they are criminals. If they don’t use any kind of gun, if they want to kill you there are thousands of different ways to do it. The thing is you got to remember the gun is an inanimate object, it has to have someone pick it up, point it at someone, and pull the trigger.

More than a third of Americans say they or someone in their household owns a gun. There are by various estimates anywhere from 270 million to 310 million guns in the United States – close to one firearm for every man, woman, and child. Can you imagine what would happen if the Government wanted to confiscate all guns? And why would they want to confiscate all guns from Americans? German citizens were disarmed by their government in the late 1930s, and by the mid-1940s Hitler’s regime had mercilessly slaughtered six million Jews and numerous others whom they considered inferior.

China is another country that Gun ownership is strictly regulated by law. Generally, private citizens are not allowed to possess guns. … Illegal possession or sale of firearms may result in a minimum punishment of 3 years in prison, and penalties for arms trafficking include life imprisonment.

The list goes on and on. For me, I love the fact that we as a nation are well armed. This means that no one will ever attack America head-on. No armies will ever invade America. Although they debunked a quote that supposedly was from Isoroku Yamamoto where it claims that he said, You cannot invade the mainland United States. There would be a rifle behind every blade of grass – He did not say this or there is no record of him saying this. But it is practically true, there would be a lot of guns pointed at you.

All in all, gun bans won’t work here in the United States.

  1. I’m a lifelong Democrat who loves my country. I’m definitely a liberal. In all my years, I don’t believe that I have ever met someone who wants to take away all guns. They are out there I’m sure but most lefties like me want some common sense changes.

I want guns and accessories with some features regulated. Brand name and the look of the gun makes absolutely no difference to me. You are right, the hunting rifle with it’s wood finish looks traditional and yet does exactly the same thing.

Here’s what I want: Reduce the number of rounds before reloading. Reduce the number of shots a person can fire per minute. Eliminate gun show and private sale loopholes. Improve the background checks process. Ensure that violent behaviors such as domestic violence are reported. Provide a mechanism for families to be able to address suicidal family members. Too many veterans are lost because trauma left them suicidal and they had access to a gun during their darkest hour.

I think some conservatives like yourself could collaborate with us lefties on a few common sense solutions.

    1. Thanks Teresa for reading and commenting. I agree with most of what you suggest. I have to disagree with the number of shots per minute thing. ANY semi-automatic gun will fire each time you pull the trigger and release and pull the trigger and release until the clip or gun is empty of shells – whether it’s 2 shells or 100 shells.

I myself do not have any problems with guns that can hold 30 rounds just because if the shooter is experienced enough with the gun – can change – 3 magazines of 10 shells or 6 mags of 5 shells – each almost as fast as just having the 30 round clip…it MIGHT make a minute difference, but it would be so little it’s not worth it.

It makes me happy that you being a liberal can see the point of the looks of the gun make no difference in the operation of the gun.

The loopholes I would like to see fixed as well. We also have to do as you suggested with the domestic violence…I would like to add that mental health needs to be addressed not just for the veterans. I suffer from Bipolar l with manic episodes, I have been institutionalized and I am not allowed to buy or own a gun. But there are those with the same illnesses that have not been institutionalized but can buy a gun – this needs to be addressed.

I feel that the suggestion by Trump and the Left to raise the age before you can buy a gun is not a good thing because I know a lot of single women that are on there own that are below the age of 21. How are they supposed to protect themselves and their children? Dial 9-1-1? I live in a county in Kentucky that has an area size of 495 miles. It would take law enforcement some time to get to you depending on where you lived. So she would end up dead or raped or whatever crime was to be committed before help would arrive.

But yes I could see level minded Democrat/liberals and conservatives/republicans working to fix the issues. But taking the gun or accessories is not the way to go for sure.
